Little Free Library is installed!
Paul Del Frari along with Gene Eral (partner of Jerri Stanley) met twice in the last two weeks to install our Little Free Library. Finishing touches include installing our identification plate that will put us on the Little Free Library Map, and let our community know that we are ready to share all kinds of books with them.
How can you help?
We are looking for recent editions of all types of literature that you have enjoyed and are willing to donate. These would include fiction, nonfiction, cooking, art, etc. Our LFL structure includes a tall section especially made for tall books and children's books of all sizes and shapes. The LFL library system is based on giving books to community members. They need not be returned. So we will be looking to refill on a regular basis.
You can visit the Little Free Library online at littlefreelibrary.org. to see the book sets they offer for purchase. They have sets of literature for children and others bundled if you would like to purchase as a gift.
Jerri Stanley has volunteered, and Judy Chase as well to act as Stewards for the LFL. That means they will check regularly on the supply of books provided and replenish as necessary. As you know we have a bookshelf with books that are a little weary and seemingly of no interest to our congregation. Let's move those books elsewhere (charity) and fill those shelves with your new and ongoing donations for the LFL. That way Jerri or Judy will always find enough great reading to refill our LFL.
We will also need to install some type of steps for younger readers as you approach the library itself. We are looking for volunteer(s) to work on that project. Let Jerri Stanley know if you have an idea , some donations are available for this project.
Thank you all for your support of this endeavor. It has taken a while to get off the ground but it is well worth the effort. We have a very engaging new way for us to reach out to our community. We hope they will return again and again to visit our location, and be rewarded with a new life experience through reading.
We are looking forward to next year being able to see readers sit on our benches as they browse through the many choices. Hopefully they will also learn more about us as well, that we are a community that shares.

This altar speaks to our times, our hopes, our prayers.

Our congregation has worked together to earn the Designation of "Green Sanctuary" from the UU Church.

We thank Roger and Inez Andrews and countless subcommittee leaders and members for their tireless work toward this goal.

We are taking an active role to help make a world that is sustainable, safe, and just for all humanity, including present and future generations, and the whole of the interconnected web of life.
